Theme:

Environmental Solutions for Protecting our Vulnerable Populations

Dear distinguished colleague, I am excited to announce that Registration and Submission of Abstracts is now open for the 2nd National Conference on Environment and Health. of the To the glory of the almighty God, the Conference will be hosted again by the Redeemer’s University (RUN), Ede, venue substantially successful maiden edition of the Conference (please see www.1stconference.lsfnigeria.org). Ede, very close to the state capital of Osun state, is readily accessible from various parts of the country. The facilities at the RUN are world class, and the environment is serene and conducive for the serious business at hand. The date for the Conference will be Tuesday 4th – Wednesday 5th April, 2017. So kindly mark this on your diary, and endeavour to keep it free for the event. The central idea behind the Conference is the provision of an inclusive platform for all relevant stakeholders in the critical Environment-Health sector of Nigeria to meet and interact. The focus is on those aspects of the Nigerian Environment that have direct impacts on human health. We believe the only way to meaningfully and successfully address such issues is to bring together experts from various sectors of society (academia, industry, government, and civil society) to holistically discuss issues and proffer customized, possibly home-grown, solutions that would at the end of the day ensure sustainable development. The theme for the 2nd National Conference on Environment and Health is Environmental Solutions for Protecting our Vulnerable Populations, which emphasizes the need to look inward and identify the more vulnerable segments of our populations and devise solutions that would mitigate their risks to adverse health outcomes, without necessarily hindering national sustainable development. There would also be emphasis on training and education to ensure that the Environment-Health agenda becomes mainstreamed and self-sustaining in the country, as it is in other developed climes.
